We are currently sourcing junior structural engineers to work both onsite and in the Project Management Office.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering, building, or related field

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of construction experience carrying out design, QAQC, and Project management activities

Skills and Competencies:

  • Familiarity with design software, such as Autodesk, AutoCAD, Orion, Microsoft Project, and Civil 3D, among others
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design.
  • Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Leadership skills to effectively manage a diverse group of professionals working on one project.
  • Ability to coordinate more than one project at a time.

  • Competence with the Office 365 suite of tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Job Summary: 

The preferred candidates will be required to perform the following functions:

  • Developing detailed designs.
  • Carrying out feasibility assessments and site inspections.
  • Preparing and implementing project plans.
  • Researching and providing estimates for projects.
  • Reviewing government regulations and ordinances.
  • Monitoring and optimizing safety procedures, production processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Confidently liaising with clients and other professional subcontractors.
  • Performing required project management duties (e.g. managing budgets, resources, and deadlines; acquiring and compiling quotes, etc.)

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project
  • Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
  • Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc. and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Set project timeline
  • Monitor project deliverables
  • Update relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress
  • Coach and support project team members with tasks you assign them

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • MSc in Project Management/PMP/PRINCE II
  • COREN Registered
  • Minimum of 10 years of Experience in construction and civil engineering projects
  • Strong business acumen in project planning and management
  • Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Projects, Primvera, Orion, and AutoCAD, among others
